Women in Leadership | A Phello program
Women in Leadership · A Phello program

A community of women exploring what comes next.

The conversations leaders rarely get to have.

Women in Leadership is a community for women who are rethinking what leadership means, and who want good company while they do it. Four times a year we gather online for an unscripted, moderated conversation about influence, identity, ambition, and the changing nature of work.

The old definitions are loosening and the new ones haven’t settled. That is exactly why these conversations matter. Come to hear from people with real experience, say what you actually think, disagree thoughtfully, and leave with a better question than the one you arrived with.

Next gathering: Tuesday, December 8, 2026 · 6:00 p.m. EST, online

Why we gather

Different chapters. Shared questions. Better conversations.

Some questions rarely get a proper hearing. They surface in hallway asides, in late-night messages to a trusted friend, in the quiet after a hard week. Women in Leadership gives them a room.

We make that room without rehearsed answers, career formulas, or any expectation that everyone sees the world the same way. Our conversations center women’s lived experience and welcome anyone who wants to engage thoughtfully with the ideas.

Q42026

What work matters?

Recognition, value, the work no one planned

Some of the most valuable work never appears on a plan: the translating, the repairing, the quiet effort that keeps everything trustworthy. We talk about the contributions that stay overlooked or undervalued, and what changes once that work is named.

Explored in Q4 2026: What Makes You Irreplaceable in the Era of AI

Q12027

What comes after achievement?

Reinvention, identity, ambition

Reaching the goal rarely settles the question of what’s next. More often it sharpens it. We explore ambition without a script: how professional identity shifts when the title changes, how success gets redefined, and what it takes to build something on your own terms.

Explored in Q1 2027: What Are You Building Now?

Q22027

Who gets heard?

Influence, relationships, access

Long before a decision is announced, a conversation has usually already happened: who was in it, who spoke up for whom, whose view arrived first. We look at how influence actually travels, what access makes possible, and whose perspectives end up shaping the outcome.

Explored in Q2 2027: The Unwritten Rules of Power

Q32027

What does leadership cost?

Compensation, opportunity, boundaries, tradeoffs

Pay, opportunity, responsibility, and the personal tradeoffs that never make it into a job description. We compare notes honestly on what leading has asked of us, what it has returned, and who gets to decide what it is worth.

Explored in Q3 2027: The Price of Leadership

The conversations

Four conversations. One continuing inquiry.

Each quarter brings a new guest list and a new question, and every one of them circles back to how women shape leadership, influence, opportunity, and value.

  1. Q12027

    What Are You Building Now?

    Ambition after achievement

How do we recognize the next chapter when the old measures of success no longer fit?

You have built experience, expertise, and a career. But the next chapter may not resemble the one before it. From executive leadership and board work to entrepreneurship, consulting, portfolio careers, or something still undefined, we’ll explore what reinvention looks like when it is driven by choice rather than convention.

  2. Q22027

    The Unwritten Rules of Power

    The room before the room

Why do equally capable leaders receive very different access and opportunity?

Formal authority is only part of how decisions get made. Access, sponsorship, credibility, relationships, and informal influence shape who is heard, and who has the opportunity to affect an outcome before the meeting even begins. This conversation examines the mechanics of power without romanticizing office politics.

  3. Q32027

    The Price of Leadership

    Where does the value go?

Where are we still giving away value, and who gets to decide what it is worth?

Leadership carries economic and personal consequences: compensation, equity, negotiation, authority, boundaries, and the unpaid work that keeps organizations functioning. We’ll examine which contributions are measured, which are taken for granted, and what changes when women compare the real price, and value, of leading.

Inside the conversation

The conversation is the point.

Come curious. Bring the question you haven’t quite said out loud yet. Somewhere in the room, someone will say what you’ve been thinking, and someone else will see it completely differently. Both are welcome.

Curiosity before certainty

Nobody arrives with the final word. The best moments start with someone saying, “I’m not sure, but here’s what I’ve noticed.”

Disagreement, with care

A different experience isn’t a problem to be solved. It is often the most useful thing in the room.

Listening that changes things

Fresh perspectives only land when people make space for them. Here, they do, and the conversation moves because of it.

And every so often, a room full of people realizes they have been carrying the same thing, and that they don’t have to carry it alone.
