Experience

 —  September 2024 - Present

I am witnessing a world of pain.  Bright, young digital health and medical device companies are struggling with raising capital and building a reliable business/revenue model.  I have been there…five times over.  Paying it forward, I enjoy helping young companies achieve their potential.  I help by sharing experience and learnings from my 30 years as a entrepreneur and healthcare/life sciences/MedTech executive.  I tell them that I have made many mistakes and I will guide them to avoid my mistakes to accelerate their success.

Over the past decade, I have provided hands-on support to dozens of young companies in the UK, EU, and US to uncover their unique, optimal pathways to success.

I am now formalizing these skills into a consulting practice, and I’d like to help you or a young company you know achieve your ambitions. My practice is called a priori

A priori means “knowledge that comes from the power of reasoning based on self-evident truths.”

My intention is to provide rapid assessment, evidence-based recommendations, and operational support to ameliorate the pain of early-stage business growth, with special emphasis on digital health and MedTech companies.

nQ is a computational biotechnology company that builds powerful machine learning solutions supporting the continuum of neurological health using its AI-powered Digital Biomarker Discovery Platform (DBDP). The DBDP was developed from 8 years of clinical studies and phenotypes neurodegenerative diseases through passive, AI-aided analysis of personal device interactions. Its biomarkers are used for early detection (years earlier than gold standard), uses RWD to track disease progression over time. Because it tracks disease progression, it can measure the impact of therapy (Rx, device, or CBT).–nQ's FDA Breakthrough designated SaMD has been developed for Parkinson's as its first indication in early-stage diagnosis up to 10 years post-diagnosis. Studies are ongoing in Alzheimer's. ALS, Huntington's, and Multiple Sclerosis. In prodromal stages of neurodegenerative diseases, digital biomarkers can detect sub-clinical symptoms known to predict phenoconversion better than biochemical markers.
